CNC‑Machined Titanium Alloy Parts for Medical Equipment

Case 2022-06-14

Project Background
Our customer is a medical device manufacturer from Europe. They required high‑precision titanium alloy components for surgical instrument assembly. Strict biocompatibility, tight dimensional tolerance and smooth surface quality are critical for this project.

Project Requirements

  • Material: Titanium alloy Ti‑6Al‑4V
  • Process: CNC milling & CNC turning
  • Tolerance: ±0.02mm
  • Surface finish: Deburred & polished
  • Quantity: 120 pcs, including 15 pcs prototype samples
  • Drawing format: STEP & 2D PDF

Our Solution

  1. Conduct DFM review according to customer drawings before production, pointed out minor structural suggestions for easier machining.
  2. Produced prototype samples first for dimension inspection and customer confirmation.
  3. Full‑batch machining after sample approval. Every piece was inspected by coordinate measuring machine.
  4. Final deburring and cleaning to meet medical‑grade surface requirement.

Project Outcome
All dimensions passed inspection. The parts satisfied medical‑assembly standards. Customer placed repeated bulk orders after sample validation.
